In 2011, Wight & Company became the first firm to be awarded Green Firm Certification by the Sustainable Performance Institute (SPI). The Certification provides a roadmap for continuous improvement to help firms understand, set and monitor their sustainability goals. Wight believes sustainable design is an irreversible movement that continues to alter how buildings are conceived and constructed. The firm integrates varying degrees of green design into every project, helping clients achieve the level of sustainability best suited to their needs. With more than 60 LEED Accredited Professionals and over 40 LEED-certified projects, including numerous Platinum, Gold, and Silver designations, Wight is a recognized leader in sustainable design. The same year Wight & Company received Green Firm Certification, Wight’s Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, Lois Vitt Sale, was named a member of the inaugural class of LEED Fellows appointed by the Green Building Certification Institute.
