Wight & Company’s relationship with the College of DuPage (COD) began in 1977 when the firm provided initial surveying and land services for the future campus. Several years later, Wight & Company was commissioned to design the award-winning McAninch Arts Center (MAC) as a place for students, faculty, and the community to experience performances and arts education. It was this early work with COD that helped Wight & Company secure a solid foothold in the education market; a sector that makes up 65% of the firm’s work today. Wight & Company’s long-standing relationship with COD continued throughout the next two decades as the firm updated the original campus master plan in 2010 and provided several award-winning renovation projects, including the Seaton Computing Center, Physical Education and Community Recreation Center, and Student Resource Center. Most recently, Wight & Company’s relationship with the COD came full circle when the firm transformed the original MAC facility into a more collaborative learning and performance center.
